2009 BBQ and Tour Dear Intermeccanica Friends I am very pleased to invite you all to join us in celebrating Intermeccani ca's 50th Anniversary. For 2009 we are returning to beautiful Vancouver Island for our tour and t hen traveling to Vancouver for a wrap up BBQ at the Intermeccanica Factory. We are very happy to announce that this year's tour will be based in the Victoria area at the beautiful Westin Bear Mountain Golf Resort & Spa. We again are planning an early bird tour to take place Friday, July 17th, for those who can make it. Official registration will begin at 4:00 pm Friday at our host hotel. We will be having a welcome reception followed by dinner on Friday evening. Saturday is tour day and if you so choose you will be treated to some of the finest back roads that you will ever have a chance to experience. The focus of the tour will be exploration, and the pace and distance will be kept reasonable. Saturday afternoon we will be returning to our host hotel for some socializing and relaxation. We are planning a casual outdoor BBQ at the golf course club house for dinner on Saturday. Sunday we will head north to Nanaimo to catch the ferry to the mainland, a real treat for those who have not made this trip before. Then it's a short drive over the picturesque Lions Gate Bridge, through Stanley Park and Vancouver's downtown to Intermeccanica where IM will host a BBQ and show. SOUNDS LIKE FUN!! Your next stop is to make your reservations. We have secured an advantageous room rate at our host hotel of CAD$ 150.00 per night (Traditional Guest Room) or $ 200.00 per night (One-Bedroom Suite). This rate is based on single/double occupancy. For each additional person over 18 years of age, a charge of CAD$30.00 per night will apply. However, the number of rooms available is limited to 21 (18 Traditional Guest Rooms and 3 One-Bedroom Suites), and most importantly the cut-off date for taking advantage of this room rate is April 15th. Please note that in addition to the above room rates, a Resort Fee of $15.00 will apply per room per night which includes such things as unlimited local phone calls, internet access, access to the Mountainside Athletic Club, etc. If you are staying overnight Sunday in Vancouver after the BBQ, we have organized for a group rate of CAD$149.00 for a room, and $169.00 for a room with breakfast and secure underground parking at the Inn at False Creek-Quality Hotel Downtown, 1335 Howe Street, Vancouver, a great place close to IM.
